simplicity - relocalization - food security - social solidarity - resilience building
The name sounds like "reused" with YOU in the midst of it.
WHY REYOUZD? IT'S SIMPLE. Used goods require NO new agricultural or industrial practices NO new manufacturing processes, NO new packaging and NO transglobal transportation to marketplace. So, buying used is sustainability in action and we are here to help you in your quest to reducing your own environmental footprint. Act now and be part of a worldwide movement. But this site is about much more than simply reuse. It is about people coming together to build resilient communities in the shadow of Peak Oil and Climate Change. We need to consider how to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. Reuse is one major approach but so is simplifying, relocalization of: our food systems, our business support, our educational opportunities, our tourism offerings and our energy reliance. We also need to reconsider the support of our community social structure. This is all part of sustainable action. That's what we are about here. We hope you will join us often to see what we're up to in this part of Ontario. Beautiful Bruce County-ONTARIO'S NATURAL RETREAT Where community sustainability is concerned, the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens is an excellent example of a cross sectoral project that is not only an agritourism and edutourism opportunity for visitors but the programming it will provide will help bring the issues of food security to the local and regional level in Bruce County Ontario. Check out the project at the link to the right. Check out our major program-The Healthy Neighbour Project-a project of community resilience building, social solidarity, and food security all wrapped up in a nice red skin! Oh, and check our blog frequently. We're constantly adding information on reuse...it' s a very broad topic with a very broad application so there's never a shortage of material to cover. |
The Bruce Botanical Food Gardens is a project that will draw attention to the issues of relocalization of our food system and increase food security in our region. Learn more about the project at www.bbfg.org
