from around the world

Canadian Home and Country Magazine-an EXCELLENT resource,
this magazine caters considerably to those of you who want to do
the right thing environmentally while allowing your home and
surroundings to express your distinctive personality.

Reyouzd.com is hosting It's All Good from Port Elgin Ontario to
participate in the Reyouzd Festival by preparing a sampling of grab
and go foods that have been created using ingredients sourced
within the region....let's say within 100 miles!
This is an environmental event that is being presented by many
associations and environmental groups around the country. It's an
attempt to bring attention to the need to return to local buying, to
protect the environment from the harm of fossil fuels used in the
transportation of the normal foods we have grown accustomed.
Some of our normal selections come from as far as 1500 miles
away!
We talk about used goods being sourced locally or regionally and
drastically reducing the impact of green house gases from
transportation to marketplace...so why not the foods we eat? This
site allows you to determine your 100 mile area simply by plugging
in your postal code! So there's no reason at all why you can't get
started right away! (and don't forget to review the Getting Started
Guide as well...just so you don't cheat!)
Happy Eating Ontario!
